I know it sounds a bit ill advised, but I never had any desire to go to school. I guess I didn’t think that far ahead. I was having so much fun going out and dating that I never made time for getting an education. All of my friends enrolled in programs within a year of graduating high school and now they are all on the verge of graduating. In fact, I met a really nice guy who I became seriously interested in because of my friends associations with the college crowd. It was due to him that I began to re-evaluate my academic experience.
When we first started dating I lied and told him I had an associates degree because I felt like I didn’t measure up to his standards. He immediately assumed that I meant that I had gotten as far as an associates but was working on a ba degree. Upon making that realization I started looking online for a degree program and ended up getting an accredited associates degree in paralegal studies.
The funny thing is that our relationship ended up not lasting beyond the semester, however my degree will last me a lifetime. I may not have gotten started for the right reasons but I ended with the same result.

Baseball: Related Sports
Though your baseball franchise may be focused on the sport of baseball, athletes playing other sports can benefit from the training and coaching provided within your facility. Take for example, softball. Softball players may pitch differently (underhanded) than baseball players (overhanded), but many of the skills are still the same: base running, batting, throwing and catching. Even stickball players can benefit from the lessons learned within your baseball franchise opportunity. Skills such as base running, throwing, and hitting are similar to those learned and implemented within baseball. Because you can offer valuable training opportunities to many athletes, whether or not their sport is baseball, you can increase the number of athletes attending your facility and in so doing, find further success both for your business and for your athletes. The best franchise opportunities are those that allow you to market to multiple groups, this way you’re not hemmed in when it comes to your efforts or success. Furthermore, your athletes get an opportunity to work with others who might be playing a slightly different sport, which adds to the sense of community and helps young athletes form solid friendships. How many business owners get to see, directly, the positive influence their businesses have on the community and particularly, the children within that community?

Mommy Goes Back to School!
One of my biggest regrets in life is not being able to pursue my interest in journalism. As a young student in Colorado, I was enthused with plans of becoming a hotshot journalist. My ambitions included visual media journalism, maybe even becoming a high profile television news anchor one day.
Then, marriage happened, and two kids arrived soon after. I remember expecting my first son, and making plans to go back to college for my journalism masters as soon as I could find a reliable crèche. By the time he was old enough to spend his day at a play school, we were expecting baby no. 2. That was three years ago, and getting my masters began to slowly slip from my mind.
Until the other day when I chanced upon an advertisement for an online university. This one offered the chance for persons to obtain an online masters degree, although they didn’t have a program in my field of choice, journalism. I prodded around further, and found another university that did offer the online master’s degree that I wanted, along with a bunch of other online bachelor’s degrees.
I am so excited about going back to school again, even if it is just in a virtual world. I know this is the start of new and exciting things for me!

Taking Your Kids' Dreams Seriously

My mom always encouraged me to do absolutely anything that I wanted to do. She would make efforts to help me pursue any interest that I expressed even when it was difficult for her to find a way to do so or when she didn't think that the interest was necessarily one that was right for me. I think this is the kind of thing that all parents should do because it made me unafraid to try new things and really able to believe that I could do anything that I wanted to do since there was support behind me.
I was never particularly interested in golf but if I had been then I'm sure that my mom would have encouraged me to believe that I could have a professional golf career. Nevermind that pro golf careers aren't easy to get or that I didn't exactly have the right skills for such a job. She would have found a golf school, signed me up for lessons and let me figure out on my own whether or not this was something that I could do on a professional level for the rest of my life. I would've learned that it wasn't but I would've been allowed to believe for awhile that it was!

3 Things to Consider When Choosing a Major
In many ways, the major you choose at college is one of the most important decisions you’ll ever make. It dictates everything from you future job and earnings to where you live. For this reason, it’s important to put careful thought into what subject you want to receive your online college degree in.
Here are 3 tips for helping you choose the right career path.
Identify Your Passion- Remember, the major you choose will impact the rest of your life. You want to ensure that you’re passionate about the career path you take. Otherwise, you’ll end up being stuck at a job you hate. For example, if you enjoy helping others, maybe you should get an associate degree from nursing schools.
Consider Your Salary- While you need to find something you’ll enjoy for years to come, you must also remember you have to earn a living for you and your family. This isn’t to say that money should be your top priority, but it is necessary for your well being. Consider enrolling in an online masters program to maximize your earning potential.
Know Your Skills- Lastly, you need to know your strengths and weaknesses before you choose a major. If you want to be successful at what you do, you need to be talented in that niche. In other words, if math isn’t your thing, you might not want to go into accounting.
