Baseball: Related Sports

Though your baseball franchise may be focused on the sport of baseball, athletes playing other sports can benefit from the training and coaching provided within your facility. Take for example, softball. Softball players may pitch differently (underhanded) than baseball players (overhanded), but many of the skills are still the same: base running, batting, throwing and catching. Even stickball players can benefit from the lessons learned within your baseball franchise opportunity. Skills such as base running, throwing, and hitting are similar to those learned and implemented within baseball. Because you can offer valuable training opportunities to many athletes, whether or not their sport is baseball, you can increase the number of athletes attending your facility and in so doing, find further success both for your business and for your athletes. The best franchise opportunities are those that allow you to market to multiple groups, this way you’re not hemmed in when it comes to your efforts or success. Furthermore, your athletes get an opportunity to work with others who might be playing a slightly different sport, which adds to the sense of community and helps young athletes form solid friendships. Mommy Goes Back to School!

One of my biggest regrets in life is not being able to pursue my interest in journalism. As a young student in Colorado, I was enthused with plans of becoming a hotshot journalist. My ambitions included visual media journalism, maybe even becoming a high profile television news anchor one day.

Then, marriage happened, and two kids arrived soon after. I remember expecting my first son, and making plans to go back to college for my journalism masters as soon as I could find a reliable crèche. By the time he was old enough to spend his day at a play school, we were expecting baby no. 2. That was three years ago, and getting my masters began to slowly slip from my mind.

Until the other day when I chanced upon an advertisement for an online university. This one offered the chance for persons to obtain an online masters degree, although they didn’t have a program in my field of choice, journalism. I prodded around further, and found another university that did offer the online master’s degree that I wanted, along with a bunch of other online bachelor’s degrees.

I am so excited about going back to school again, even if it is just in a virtual world. I know this is the start of new and exciting things for me!
