Nursing Degree Is Hot In Asia

I traveled to Asia last month to visit a friend who works as a professor. I noticed in the newspapers that advertisement for health services degrees is so abundant.

My professor friend told me that Asians are in frenzy getting health degrees especially in nursing because a lot of them want to work in the US or Europe for bigger salaries. And in the school where my friend works, the college marketing and enrollment services department is always full of people inquiring about health related degrees.

And it really makes sense because in US and Europe, the demand for nurses is so great. It may be that the population in these countries is aging or that many people in the US or Europe are into other fields for their career.

And it is not surprising that many Asians want to work in the US or Europe because not only does the currency conversion send home a lot of money to Asia but also because salaries for nurses in these countries are so high.

I also learned that an online nursing degree can be obtained online. This is great because now people can study on their own time and pace. But I am quite curious how these people do hands on training on real patients.

But nevertheless, these nurses, should they want to work in, say, USA, they will still have to pass the state board in order to practice their profession. So quality services for nurses can still be assured.
