Johnny Goes to College

Wow! I can’t believe that in a matter of five months my husband and I will be empty nesters. Does that mean we go dancing at Disneyland or take an Alaskan cruise? Hollywood seems to run this world and that is what I’ve seen on the commercials. It seems I had better call my travel agent today, whip out my MasterCard or Visa, and start planning.
We are actually full of mixed emotions to see our son take this next journey in his life. We love him very much and we are sad to see him leave us but at the same time we are proud that he is a capable person and he is ready to move on and pursue his goals. I am glad we have financially planned since his birth and we can afford college. I am also very proud of our son and his hard work because he has received a partial academic scholarship to reduce tuition. In addition to his scholarship, we plan to employ a certified college planner to make sure we are we are getting all benefits available to our family. There may be IRS strategies available that can reduce our out of pocket costs.

Looking for a Diploma Frame Which Represents My Effort

I have always enjoyed going to school but when I had kids my education was put on hold. I eventually had an opportunity to return to college when my kids were old enough and I jumped at the chance. However I found it more difficult to balance my priorities after becoming a parent therefore I decided to drop to part-time. Unfortunately going part-time prolonged my graduation. When that day finally arrived it was such an amazing feeling to know my academic efforts had finally reached fruition.

Considering how long it took me to hold that piece of paper in my hand, I wanted to make sure that I purchased the best diploma frame I could find to ensure its safe keeping. I was looking for craftsmanship that represented my efforts so I did a little research and found a great site that sells a high quality university diploma frame. It was so easy to build exactly the frame I wanted to view my achievements from and I even had it embossed in addition to getting my universities seal on it.

I received my frame today and it was beautiful. I immediately hung it on my wall with pride. I am so glad I found the perfect frame.

Making College Choices

I have a friend whose sister is beginning to consider her options for college. She has several ideas in her head as far as what she wants to pursue as a career. She is a talented artist and is thinking that art school may be an option. Culinary school is another option that she is considering. Fashion design is yet another field that she has an interest in.

If she decides on culinary arts, she will have skills that can easily land her steady employment after graduation. Culinary arts degrees can open doors in various high class restaurants and could give her other opportunities at resorts, schools, etc. With a degree in culinary arts, she may even be able to open a restaurant one day.

Art is a hard field to really excel in financially. While I think she has great talent, I don’t know if she has enough talent to land her a lucrative career. She may decide to go into animation or something similar. I really don’t see her as the starving artist type.

Fashion design is probably the least likely field that she will enter. While she has her own unique style, I don’t think that it is one that will translate well in the cutthroat world of fashion. She also doesn’t have the demeanor that it seems to take to be successful in that field.

I have a feeling my friend’s sister will end up in cooking school. Time will tell.
